Welcome to a new season on board!

Why sit at home just dreaming to sail a tall ship?

The SØRLANDET is unique - the most versatile sailing ship of the world - always making new adventure cruises. Famed for her beauty and elegance, friendly atmosphere and exciting challenges.
Your dream of an ocean cruise in a real tall ship is within reach. The SØRLANDET friendship cruises are famous the world over and open to all nationalities.

Here we all pull together....
Let the wind choose the destination. Stand sea watches and share the sailors' duties as part of the crew. Here all must take part in rope pulling, and your effort is essential for a successfull sail manoeuvre.
Become familiar with a sailor's way of life, learn about canvas and ropes, splices and knots.
Demanding but enjoyable. The ship calls for responsibility and team spirit. Too difficult and demanding, you may think, but a positive attitude and common sense is all it takes. Nine out of ten participants want to return for another trip.

People young at heart - between 15 and 70 years or more - from all walks of life, of both sexes and all nations, share the postive atmosphere of friendship and a unique experience.

Safe cruising - style and enjoyment.
The SØRLANDET sails well and tacks easily, even in a light air.
Sail safely under reliable guidance of professional sailors and officers.
Numerous trainees have sailed and climbed her rigging with no fatal accidents. However, working aloft is not compulsory. There are things of equal importance to be done down on deck.
When the pulling and bracing are done and the sail trimmed, you can enjoy the special atmosphere and relax on deck or in the trainees' quarters where sofa cots have replaced the old hammocks.
At the end of the cruise you will agree that it was really worthwhile. Life at sea has a charme and style of its own.

A real celebrity.
The ship has appeared and been admired in films and TV productions in many countries.

We can cite a British Master Mariner saying: "The SØRLANDET has found the right balance between comfort and hardship, privacy and companionsip, enjoyment and hard work."
